Advanced Lighting Techniques with LED's & Flash

This workshop is targeted at photographers and content creators who want to learn some advanced lighting techniques with unlimited creative possibilities.
I'm going to show you what's possible when you combine LED lights and Flash together.
Specifically, we will look at some long exposure tricks where we can create light streaks and a shadow effect. We will look at using fIrst-curtain sync, rear-curtain sync, shutter drag, camera movement and more.
A workshop isn't a workshop if you're not getting your hands dirty. So once you have seen me do a demonstration, you will get to shoot our model with your own camera under my guidance to add some amazing new shots to your portfolio.
I'm going to keep everyone together in one group with one model this time. This way everyone can benefit from my teachings and we aren't divided.

Get hands on with the equipment!
At this workshop I will have an assortment of Nanlite LED lighting equipment we will be using such as FC-500C, Pavotubes and more.
The flash units we will be using will be Godox AD600 Pro's
Learn to Light Series
What Will I Learn?
The topic of conversation is Creating with Color and combining LEDs with Flash.
We will have a look at the benefits and features of using LED and how they compare to flash.
You will learn how to setup, shape, balance and control light.
We are going to look at camera settings and all the technical aspects of combining these technologies.
We will explore some of the modifier options that we can use for portraits and why.
I will be giving as many lighting tips for your portraits as I can.
I am a very laid back person, and my workshops are designed to offer more of an informal, relaxed experience. So ask questions, have fun, and enjoy yourself.
We will all be taking photos and i'll help everyone along the way.
Lighting Essentials
What do I need to bring?
- Your digital SLR or Mirrorless camera with a hot-shoe.
- Your lenses (anything in the 24 - 150mm range)
- Your memory cards
- Make sure your batteries are charged! (don't laugh, it's happened before)
- You must know the basics of how to use your camera in manual mode. eg: adjusting your aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
- A smile and a fun attitude!

6:15pm:

6:30pm - 9:30pm
Brodie will give a brief introduction and talk about a few of the technical points of using flash and LED together.
Then Brodie will demonstrate how to setup the lighting to use it and how to setup the camera as well.
From there the setups will evolve and change and you will get your hands dirty along the way capturing some images with the model.
You will get more than one opportunity to take your own images.

We may have some additional time for questions at the end.
